The Feast of St. Joseph
March 19, 2021

To all the faithful at St. Andrew’s York:  Grace and Peace to you in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Beginning Palm Sunday, March 28, 2021, we will return to offering in-person worship options here at St. Andrew’s York.  Bishop Scanlan’s office, in consultation with the Task Force on Operations and the Standing Committee, offered updated guidelines on March 9, 2021, nothing evidence of the effectiveness of vaccines, improving numbers, and incorporating additional factors for determining safe thresholds.  Our parish meets the new benchmarks for reopening.

Guidelines continue to stress the importance of mask wearing, social distancing of individuals and/or family groups, cleaning where and when appropriate, and attendance coordination among others.  We will do all in our power to provide as renewing an in-person worship experience as possible while remaining vigilant in safe practices to ensure that we do not regress to a place where we have to consider ceasing in-person opportunities in the future.

While many will take advantage of these opportunities, let us remember that in community not all think like we think.  There will be some of our brothers and sisters who are hesitant to return – especially those who have yet to acquire a vaccine.  We will continue our virtual presence.  We have an excellent system now, and our virtual presence is now a part of who we are.  I wish to stress to those who are not comfortable returning to in-person worship as this time, that we will strive to provide you with spiritual care and guidance.

More information will be coming soon about registering for in-person services.  Keep an eye on your email inbox for this information.  Information will also be available beginning Sunday, March 21, 2021, for our Holy Week and Easter schedules.  Additional services will be offered during Holy Week and especially on Easter to try and accommodate all who may wish to worship in-person.  For example:  we are adding a fourth service option on Easter.

As always, I invite your patience, good cheer, and support as we seek to navigate the changes and chances of our time.

I look forward to being with you however you deem most appropriate for you and your family as we enter this most holy time of year.

Faithfully,

The Reverend T. Grant Ambrose
10th Rector
